About WebP2Any
Free, private WebP conversion - right in your browser
Start ConvertingOur Mission
WebP2Any was built with a simple goal: make WebP image conversion accessible to everyone, without compromises. The WebP format has become one of the most widely used image formats on the web, yet many applications, platforms, and workflows still require traditional formats like JPG, PNG, or GIF. We bridge that gap with a free WebP converter that anyone can use instantly.
There are no costs, no accounts to create, and no daily limits. Whether you need to convert a single image or process an entire batch of files, WebP2Any treats every user the same. We believe that essential tools like image conversion should be freely available, not locked behind paywalls or sign-up walls.
Privacy is not an afterthought at WebP2Any. It is the foundation of how the tool was designed. From the very first line of code, we made a deliberate architectural decision: your files never leave your device. Every conversion happens entirely within your browser. This means you can convert sensitive photos, confidential documents, or personal images with complete confidence that no one else will ever see them.
Our commitment is to remain free, private, and fast for every user. We do not monetize your data, we do not track your files, and we do not limit what you can convert. That is the WebP2Any promise.
How It Works
WebP2Any uses your browser's native Canvas API to decode and convert WebP images. When you drop a file into the converter, your browser reads the WebP data directly, decodes it onto an invisible HTML canvas element, and then re-encodes it into your chosen output format. This all happens using standard web technologies that are already built into modern browsers.
Because the Canvas API handles the decoding natively, conversions are fast and efficient. There is no need to download large libraries or wait for server-side processing. Your browser does all the heavy lifting, which means the conversion speed depends only on your device's processing power, not on network conditions or server availability.
The key advantage of this approach is that no files are ever uploaded to any server. The entire pipeline, from reading your WebP file to producing a PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, or ICO output, runs as client-side JavaScript in your browser. Once the page has loaded, the converter even works offline. You can disconnect from the internet entirely and continue converting files without interruption.

Features
WebP2Any is designed to handle a wide range of conversion needs with a clean, straightforward interface. Here is what you can do with the tool:
- 5 output formats - Convert WebP images to PNG (lossless with transparency), JPG (universal compatibility), GIF (simple graphics), BMP (uncompressed bitmap), or ICO (Windows icon format with multi-size support).
- Batch conversion - Drop multiple WebP files at once and convert them all in a single operation. There is no limit on the number of files you can process.
- JPG quality control - When converting to JPG, use the quality slider to set compression from 10% to 100%. Balance file size against image quality to get exactly the result you need.
- Resize options - Adjust the dimensions of your output images during conversion. Scale images up or down without needing a separate editing tool.
- Metadata stripping - Remove EXIF metadata from your images, including GPS coordinates, camera information, and timestamps. This is essential for protecting your privacy when sharing photos online.
- Auto-orientation - WebP2Any reads EXIF orientation data and automatically rotates your images so they display correctly in the output format, regardless of how the original was captured.
All of these features work entirely in your browser with no server interaction required.
